Brazil nuts originate from the Amazonian jungle where the trees grow wild as an integral part of the tropical rain forest and can grow more than 40 metres high. Pods similar to small coconuts fall from the trees and are collected by natives who in turn sell them on for processing and cracking.
We source shelled Brazil kernels from processors and packers primarily in Bolivia from where the goods are transported to Arica in Chile before shipment in containers around the world. |
